On older models of RV roof vents you used to be able to just reverse the wiring to have the motor run in the reverse direction. With the current models of the MaxxAir MaxxFan, including the MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-04000K this feature is already programmed into the controller so that you don't have to change the wiring. If you have two MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vents # MA00-07500K installed in your RV, with one in the cabin and one in the bathroom, a single remote will work for both but only if you have line-of-sight between the remote and sensor on both vents
Simply put, if you want to increase the speed on the cabin fan, the bathroom fan would not react unless there was a clear line-of-sight to the sensor on the bathroom fan as well, which would give you the separate operation you were looking for.

Replacing a vent or fan isn't really difficult and can be accomplished by pretty much anyone. The Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Remote # FV807350 is an excellent option as it does have the temp controls and automatically shuts when it starts to rain. It has a 5 inch Garnish, or sleeve, and so it will fit perfectly in the spot you described. You might even be able to leave the current sleeve in.

You are correct, most older roof vents and/or fans do have a galvanized steel roof flange that mounts to the top of the RV. The Camco Roof Vent Cover, # CAM40431, that you mentioned is often used with these style vents/fans as seen in our installation video.

The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent does work with the lid closed, as it has a ceiling fan mode which allows you to close the lid and use the the vent in the same way a ceiling fan in a home operates. I reached out to Bauer and you will be able to run your vent fan while the # BA89VR Sun Out RV Roof Vent Shade is closed. It is not air tight, so some air will get through. However, they said the air flow will be minimal while the vent is closed.

The MaxxFan Mini Plus Manual RV Roof Vent part # MA00-03851 draws around 2 amps max with both the fan and light on. Unfortunately, we don't have specific amp draw ratings for the fan only or the light only but the light is likely around .5 amps or less which means the fan would then take up the remainder of the amp draw rating around 1.5 amps.

The two MaxxFan Mini Plus Manual RV Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-03851 you bought will have black and white wires hidden above the fan that you'll connect to the 12v wiring of the trailer. The black wire is your power and the white wire is your ground/neutral. To connect it to the trailer's wiring you'll need to use some butt connectors # DW05714 or wire nuts to splice the wiring together.
